Sequences Part 2

Here's a few more examples of when having a sharp eye and quick reactions pay off. It is the ability to see this moment as a sequence that you can appreciate what is really going on. Documentary wedding photography relies on observing and recording events faithfully... whatever happens! Capture these moments by making sure your camera is set to a fast shutter speed and use continuous focus so that you can track movement. More importantly be aware of what is going on and be ready to pounce!
If you missed part one click here: Sequences Part 1.

The loving bride carefully administers suncream to her husband's face:

A hilarious story about childbirth was told with great acting skills from the storyteller in this unforgettable sequence (I still don't know what he was doing with the fork!):

The reception antics got even more out of hand here after these chaps accidentally set fire to their napkins... step in sensible usher with bottle of water to the rescue!

And finally something a little more romantic... the newly weds making their way back down the aisle. I adore the elation from her and the pride from him:

Sequences Part 1

Today I thought I'd find some cool sequences of events, because sometimes one image is not enough and you want to know what happened next! These images are all within a few seconds of each other and are great for expression changes and movement.

First off is the bride cracking a joke at the alter much to the amusement of the groom...

Next we have the bride and groom on space hoppers racing each other. Just amazing!

Finally, wedding guests get it wrong in giant jenga...

Stay tuned for part two soon...

Look out! Confetti!

I've put together a few confetti shots that show how much fun people can have even when under attack by bits of paper! Not so much however for the groom in the penultimate photo who had a special blessing by his nephew who threw the entire contents of his confetti box onto his head, it took a long time to remove all the dust! Nevertheless, confetti shots are a traditional way to celebrate with the newly weds. Did you know it is supposed to give hope that the couple will have a fertile marriage? So get chucking  next time you're at a wedding!

A match made in Dorset

Rachel and Tim had an exquisite wedding down in Dorset and it was a pleasure to photograph such a relaxed and happy couple. The drive through Kingston Lacy's tree lined avenue was a bonus as there were no other cars coming and so I managed a few on the fly! Must get myself a chauffeur to help with this in future! An idyllic setting down by the River Stour gave some unique photo opportunities  and the party went well into the night. Here's a sample:
